How do you find inspiration when you draw something? We ask RavenFox13 about that!

RavenFox13, a visual artist and teacher based in the Philippines, describes art as a "constant companion" in his life. At university, he majored in advertising arts and now creates works that closely resemble visual communication. He makes a diverse range of works, expressing emotions delicately and captivating viewers, drawing them into his world.
Q:When and how did you start drawing illustrations? Could you tell us what inspired you to begin?
A: I discovered my passion for creating art at an early age. I love exploring picture books, comics, anime, cartoons, and manga. I even created my comic characters, including 'RavenFox,' who plays a key role in my story. I'm always excited to visit art galleries, museums, and art events.
Q: What is the source of your artistic inspiration? It seems that you often illustrate flowers and people—what attracts you to these subjects?
Q:How do you feel about the drawing experience and characteristics of PIGMA pens?
A: PIGMA pens are my go-to choice; I use them every day. I love the consistent ink flow and how smoothly they glide across the paper. These are waterproof, bleed-proof, and archival qualities make them ideal for my watercolor washes in both my artwork and journaling. They truly serve as an all-in-one pen for my daily needs.
Q:You mentioned that you particularly like using the gold GELLYROLL. How do you feel about its color and finish? Additionally, could you share your impressions of using many different colors in your artwork this time?
Q:Could you share some tips and techniques on how to create artworks using the GELLY ROLL pens?(this is for new artworks if earth colors or pink and purple set)
A: A key tip for working with GELLY ROLL pens is to always let the ink dry for a few minutes after applying it to your surface. It’s easy to get carried away and accidentally smudge the ink if your hand drags across the paper. To avoid this, I make a conscious effort to keep my hands and fingers off the surface while I draw
Additionally, the more you use GELLY ROLL pens, the better they perform. I typically mark the pens I've already used, and take a moment to doodle something at my desk using them as often as possible. This helps prevent blotting and ensures a smoother ink flow in the future..
Q:What is the most important thing for you as an artist when creating your work?
A:Take time to rest; don't push your hand to its limits. If you're in need of inspiration before starting a project, go ahead and play that video game, watch that movie, binge that series, visit the mall, or run that race—whatever makes you feel alive! When you're well-rested and inspired, the creative process becomes much easier.
